Capt. Herb Tennell

A self admitted fish “aholic”, Herb was born and raised in the town of Port Angeles on the west coast of Washington State. After high school graduation in 1989, his summers during college were spent on charter boats fishing for salmon in the straits of juan de fuca. In 1994, he ventured north for a summer job guiding out of Sitka and immediately fell in love with Alaska. As a result he has spent his last nine summer exploring the fishing waters in and around Sitka, Alaska.

Capt. Steve Runnion

A four year veteran on Sitka’s waters, Steve (right) was also born and raised in Port Angeles, Washington. From early in his life Steve spent many hours pursuing fish, both freshwater and saltwater. Accomodating and with a true passion for the sport Steve has the experience and knowledge to make your trip a memorable one.

Fishing Vessels

Operating daily out of Sitka, Outbound Alaska Charters currently employs two charter vessels, which are 26 ftt 30 ft cabin cruisers. They are comfortable inside and out, and have a cruising speed of 25 knots (30 miles per hour).

Both vessels are very safe, and include heated cabins, and a head (bathroom) for optimum comfort. Both boats are fully outfitted with navigational, and fishfinding electronics as well as saftey equipment. They can comfortable fish from 4-6 anglers.

Onboard we carry life jackets, and rain gear should your charter day be a wet one.
